CIÊNCIA’19 – Science and Technology conference in Portugal, 8-10 July

Ciência 2019 is another annual meeting of Portuguese researchers. Promoted by the Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) in association with Ciência Viva – National Agency for Scientific Culture and Technology and the Parliamentary Education and Science Commission, Ciência’19 took place from 8-10 July at the Lisbon Conference Centre.

The main aim of this meeting was to stimulate both the participation by and interaction of researchers, business and the public in general. This year’s invited country was the United Kingdom with the programme highlighting significant events in the history of world science. The moon landings, the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the world by Ferdinand Magellan and 150 years of the periodic table of chemical elements were just some of the topics not to be missed.
