Which language is the most difficult to learn?

The answer to this question depends on who is being asked. A Portuguese speaker will find it easier to learn a Romance language like French, Italian, Spanish or Romanian.

The Foreign Service Institute conducted research to find out how long on average it takes for a native-English speaker to learn to speak a foreign language fluently. The results showed the most difficult languages to learn, those in Category 5, are all Asian: Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.

For these native-English speakers, Portuguese and Spanish are both Category 1 languages, while languages like German were put in Category 2.

At Traductanet, a translation and interpretation company, we have translators for every language, including Category 5 languages. We offer a professional service that meets all our client needs, including the use of specific terminologies for their technical areas, all of which is important to ensure top quality results.
